•• В последнее время это словосочетание, употребляемое как прилагательное, вошло в моду. Говорят так обычно о политиках, государственных деятелях, например: no-nonsense Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus (Associated Press). Или такое употребление: No-nonsense, accountable pragmatism is now the rule (из статьи на экономическую тему в International Herald Tribune). «Ощутить» смысл этих слов в общем нетрудно, а вот перевести – нелегко. Суть здесь – в слове pragmatism. Соответственно, в применении к людям это слово и означает – прагматик, человек, не витающий в облаках, лишенный сентиментальности, или, как у нас говорят о людях такого типа, человек жесткий или предельно конкретный.
